Are you a self starter that takes initiative to plan and complete assigned work with a high level of accuracy while providing excellent customer service? This position is responsible for providing direct support, positive direction, and redirection to individuals supported in IS Living’s residential programs and modeling this behavior to primary direct care staff through supportive tasks such as onboarding of new direct care staff.

  • Ensures direct care staff have the necessary knowledge and resources to be effective in their roles as directed.
  • Develops and maintains positive, effective, respectful, and therapeutic relationships with individuals receiving services.
  • Models positive communication and behavior while working directly with individuals.
  • Demonstrates and models the ability to communicate clearly and calmly with clients in behaviorally challenging situations.
  • Effectively manages continuous repetitive and potentially aggressive behaviors.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with the community including neighbors and local law enforcement.
  • Quickly and effectively problem-solve individual’s needs, redirecting according to their behavioral support plan and utilizing OIS strategies for individuals who become escalated.
  • Provides behavioral emergency assistance such as basic first aid when needed.
  • Encourages individuals to develop work skills and participate in social, recreational, and other therapeutic activities to enhance interpersonal skills and develop social relationships.
  • Coordinates and facilitates medical and other appointments for individuals served.
  • Assists individuals with activities of daily living.
  • Organizes and/or facilitates training or other types of presentations as directed.
  • Coordinates with management, cross-functional teams, and vendors in the execution of daily tasks and functions.

Job Type: Full-time

  • Day Shift 6:00am-6:00pm

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two to three years of experience working with people with cognitive processing skills is preferred. A minimum of one year’s experience working in a residential services environment is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English
  • Successful clearance of local and or state background checks
